The Gathering

Prior to a rare afternoon of summer rain, the sky over the ocean always takes on a certain hue.  The brief summer rain enjoyed in Perth on the 28th of February was no exception and over the next week or two I’ll feature some images I captured from that afternoon that included a fairly spectacular sunset.

False Tropics

Growing up I always looked upon images of tropical Australia with awe at the colour of the turquoise oceans and palm tree clad shorelines.

Turns out most of the tropical oceans are a milky brown colour and the clear turquoise waters are actually in the southern Indian and Southern Oceans.

Not that it’s a bad thing.  Meelup Beach, Dunsborough in all its glory.
