Kudos to guest photographer Brett Ross for absconding with my camera and coming up with a couple of decent images! 🙂

Bendigo Streetscape II

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Another taste of the Bendigo streetscape.
Alas I’m going to be sans intertrons for the next week and a bit as I take a bit of a break.  I’ll be back to continue the post a day quest from the first week in May.

Bendigo Town Hall

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

A recent trip to Bendigo afforded the opportunity to wander the streets, albeit briefly, and marvel at some of the majestic gold rush period architecture.  The town hall, hidden back from the main street, is indeed one.

Painting with Light II

Monday, April 20th, 2009

There’ something wonderfully simplistic about ‘dashboard photography’.  The premise is that as dusk approaches, you crank up the F stop and increase the exposure time to let in a fair bit of light.  This, coupled with your forward velocity at 30.58ms-1 coupled with the undefined velocity of vehicles heading towards you lends itself not only to a fairly interesting picture, but one which is truly unique as it would be nigh on impossible to replicate.

Simple, sure, but simplicity does not in anyway dictate beauty.

I’d also not recommend you to try this at home while driving…

Path to Bluff Knoll

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Bluff Knoll is a fascinating place and I recently had the chance of visiting at least the base of it.  While the walk up was inviting, it was amazingly cold and the thought of six kilometres taking four hours meant that I wasn’t quite that keen.

But I will be back!
