Jingemia Cave – Watheroo National Park

Coloured quartz outcrops adorn the immediate country around Jingemia Cave in the massive Watheroo National Park.

The floor of what probably should be a river but isn’t until the winter rains really kick in is illuminated by gaps in the canopy.

The Avon Descent is on at the start of August and travelling into the Perth hills today to the Walyunga National Park revealled a bevy of eager folk unloading kayaks and readying themselves to practice some of the rapids including the gentleman in the photo.

Swans are very inquisitive and gentle creatures.  More often than not, when they see you, they’ll not hesitate in motoring up to see just exactly what you may have to offer.  In this case, this swan was very intent on coming over to check out if the camera I was holding was edible, to the point where he stood no more than 30cm from me sniffing around to see if I had anything of interest, before ripping out some grass from the ground.  Such a delight to be around.
