And then, when you least expect it; it arrives. Or at the very least, it hints that it’s arriving.

One of the biggest parts of photography, especially when it deals with nature, is waiting. It pays to have a good book in the glove box or snuggled in next to the lenses.

One appears to be experiencing some shenanigans with one’s computer this evening, so I’ve been forced to dip into the archives for an image.
This image is from the Gap in Albany, quite possibly my favourite place on earth. The average age of the rocks is ~3.5 billion years.

It’s not every day you rock up to your local beach with the intent of taking some photos only to find some rock band shooting a film clip. Well, it was this evening, apparently.

Tonight I’ve added a ‘subscription’ option to receive an email with site updates. At this stage it will send an email out each time I post a new photo, which as you would know, is once a day, so it will be a low volume mailing list.
You can subscribe on the right in the side bar (or below) and I promise I won’t sell your email address to those crazy spammers and their wacky get rich/erect/married quick schemes.
There is of course, the traditional RSS if you wish to stay up to date.

Prior to a rare afternoon of summer rain, the sky over the ocean always takes on a certain hue. The brief summer rain enjoyed in Perth on the 28th of February was no exception and over the next week or two I’ll feature some images I captured from that afternoon that included a fairly spectacular sunset.

A last minute freak chance capture of the pink glow of a sunset, shot from my office no less.
