Water gauges on the edge of Lake Monger reflect the recent rains.

The floor of what probably should be a river but isn’t until the winter rains really kick in is illuminated by gaps in the canopy.

Plam fronds are cast lazily against a winter’s sky on the shores of Lake Monger.

The Avon Descent is on at the start of August and travelling into the Perth hills today to the Walyunga National Park revealled a bevy of eager folk unloading kayaks and readying themselves to practice some of the rapids including the gentleman in the photo.

And so I’m back.  It’s been nice having a break, but, it’s back to the world of taking photos and sharing them!  And hopefully, with a few surprises to come on this site in the coming months.
